Everything about your visa status

Have you recently applied for a Kenya eTA? Do not get stuck wondering about your application status; instead, stay updated with our Atlys Kenya visa status tracking tool. Whether you are located in the East or West, or have applied through the Kenyan eCitizen portal, each applicant can use our tool to check Kenya eTA application status in real-time, in just two minutes.

How to check your Kenya eTA status online?

Here are simple steps to track Kenya eTA status:

  1. Step 1: Enter your passport number, date of birth, and reference (or application) number.

One of the following results will be displayed on the screen:

Tip: Once you receive it, match the displayed details against your eTA to confirm its authenticity, then print it and carry it with you for entry into Kenya.

How do I verify my Kenya e-visa or eTA?

Here is how you can verify your Kenya e-visa or eTA upon receiving it:

  1. Step 1: Visit the Kenyan government’s eCitizen website

  2. Step 2: Select ‘eVisa Application’ in the Select Service tab.

  3. Step 3: Enter the reference or application number.

  4. Step 4: Click ‘Search,’ after which you will see all the important information about your e-visa. Match the displayed details with the ones on the received e-visa to confirm its authenticity.

My Kenya e-visa status shows "rejected." What should I do?

If your Kenya visa application status shows “rejected,” understand and address the reasons for rejection before reapplying. Some of the common Kenya visa rejection reasons include:

  • Incomplete or inaccurate application: Missing or mismatching information on your visa application can often lead to visa rejection.

  • Invalid passport: Having a passport with a validity of less than six months (at least) from the arrival date in Kenya.

  • Incorrect photograph: Submitting photos that do not meet the visa photo requirements (e.g., must be clear, unedited, and not older than 6 months) can cause issues.

Worried about another visa rejection? Apply with Atlys, and let our experts ensure that nothing stops you from getting a Kenya eTA this time!

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions travellers actually ask. Still curious? Our visa experts answer every question on WhatsApp, email or call.
How long does it take to process a Kenya eTA?

Kenya eTAs are typically processed within a few working days. Apply at least a few days before your travel date for a safe buffer.

What information do I need to check my Kenya eTA status?

You need your passport number, date of birth, and reference (or application) number. The reference number is your primary identifier and is included in your application confirmation.

Does Kenya use a visa or an eTA?

Kenya replaced its traditional visa with an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA). All foreign nationals must obtain an eTA before traveling. The terms are often used interchangeably, but the official document is an eTA.

Can I check my Kenya eTA status by passport number?

The Kenya system requires your passport number together with your date of birth and reference number. Passport number alone is not enough, the reference number is the primary identifier.

Is the Atlys Kenya visa status checker free?

Yes. Checking your Kenya eTA status with the Atlys tool is completely free, whether you applied through Atlys or the eCitizen portal.

Can I track my eTA if I applied on the eCitizen portal?

Yes. The Atlys Kenya visa status tracking tool works for every applicant, including those who applied directly on the Kenyan eCitizen portal.

What does "In process" mean?

It means your application is still being reviewed. This is normal, especially in the first few days. No action is needed from you unless the status changes.

Why does my Kenya eTA status show "Unknown"?

"Unknown" means the information you entered is invalid or does not match a record. Check your passport number and reference number for typos. If you applied within the last 24 to 48 hours, your application may not be in the system yet, so wait and try again.

Do I need to print my Kenya eTA?

Yes. Once approved, download and print your Kenya eTA and carry it with you for entry. Match the details against your application to confirm everything is correct.

How often should I check my Kenya eTA status?

Once a day is enough. The eCitizen system updates at its own pace, so checking more frequently will not show new information sooner.

What should I do if my Kenya eTA is rejected?

Identify and fix the reason before reapplying, common causes are incomplete or inaccurate details, an invalid passport, incorrect photos, or missing accommodation proof. Applying through Atlys means our experts review your application to prevent these errors.

Is my information safe when I use the visa status checker?

Yes. The tool uses advanced technology to ensure data protection and prevent unauthorised access to your information.
