How will I receive my Kenya eTA once it is approved?
Once approved, the Kenya e-visa is issued as an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) in PDF format, sent to you by email. You can download and print it to carry when traveling to the country.
Tip: Once you receive it, match the displayed details against your eTA to confirm its authenticity, then print it and carry it with you for entry into Kenya.
How do I verify my Kenya e-visa or eTA?
Here is how you can verify your Kenya e-visa or eTA upon receiving it:
Step 1: Visit the Kenyan government’s eCitizen website.
Step 2: Select ‘eVisa Application’ in the Select Service tab.
Step 3: Enter the reference or application number.
Step 4: Click ‘Search,’ after which you will see all the important information about your e-visa. Match the displayed details with the ones on the received e-visa to confirm its authenticity.
My Kenya e-visa status shows "rejected." What should I do?
If your Kenya visa application status shows “rejected,” understand and address the reasons for rejection before reapplying. Some of the common Kenya visa rejection reasons include:
Incomplete or inaccurate application: Missing or mismatching information on your visa application can often lead to visa rejection.
Invalid passport: Having a passport with a validity of less than six months (at least) from the arrival date in Kenya.
Incorrect photograph: Submitting photos that do not meet the visa photo requirements (e.g., must be clear, unedited, and not older than 6 months) can cause issues.
